With over a decade in the U.S. Marine Corps, experience as a Special Agent with the FBI, and a successful transition into the private sector, his diverse background has equipped him with a unique skill set that has been sought after in multiple industries and disciplines.
Military Service: A Rise Through the Ranks
Joseph McQuerry's journey began in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he quickly rose through the ranks, earning meritorious promotions and achieving the position of Staff Sergeant in Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence. His military career was marked by significant responsibilities, including planning and executing hundreds of mobile combat patrols during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He commanded four heavily armed Humvees, leading sweep operations on critical supply routes to support counter-insurgency and counter-IED missions.
In addition to his combat duties, he was entrusted with the daily management and well-being of 12 Marines under his command, ensuring their readiness and safety in high-pressure environments. He also managed millions of dollars worth of government equipment, from vehicles and weapon systems to advanced electronic jamming devices, demonstrating his ability to oversee complex logistical operations.
Beyond the battlefield, McQuerry served as an instructor and military liaison for the Military Intelligence Basic Officer's Course in Abuja, Nigeria. In this role, he provided advanced training in intelligence analysis, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving, sharing his expertise with fellow military personnel and strengthening their capabilities.
FBI Service: From Military to Federal Intelligence
Building on his military experience, McQuerry transitioned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a Special Agent. In this role, he quickly demonstrated his value by expanding six federal investigations into over a dozen counterintelligence cases within a year. His responsibilities included collecting, analyzing, and producing intelligence reports that were distributed to international law enforcement agencies and the broader intelligence community.
During his tenure at the FBI, McQuerry developed deep expertise in case management, research, and the resolution of complex problems. He provided:

- Further enhanced the FBI's operational effectiveness through his instruction in interpersonal communication and deception detection.
In 2013, McQuerry served as Screener Team Lead and Military Contractor with Mission Essential Personnel in Kabul, Afghanistan. He supervised the duties of 12 Counterintelligence Screeners, overseeing their training, setting performance standards, and ensuring the accuracy of their assessment reports.
Private Sector Success: A Diverse Skill Set in Action
After his public service, McQuerry seamlessly transitioned into the private sector, where he continued to leverage his leadership and analytical skills. He began as a District Account Sales Manager for ADT in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was responsible for managing sales operations and delivering exceptional service to both new and existing customers. His strategic approach to sales management led to consistent success and growth within the district.
Following his achievements at ADT, McQuerry entered the insurance industry as a licensed Property and Casualty Insurance Agent with Local Choice Insurance in Louisville. In this role, he exceeded sales goals and provided personalized solutions to clients, establishing himself as a trusted advisor. His expertise in insurance further expanded when he joined the Rawlings Group in La Grange, Kentucky, as a Subrogation Recovery Analyst. There, he investigated the recoverability of subrogation files, regularly negotiating with attorneys, insurance adjusters, and members to secure favorable outcomes. He also gained experience in reviewing and analyzing health plan contracts with a focus on state and federal laws.
McQuerry's insurance career continued as a Property and casualty Claims Analyst at Equian in Louisville. He managed a substantial caseload of complex worker's compensation claims, collaborating with law firms, insurance companies, employers, and injured workers to ensure fair and timely resolutions. His effective communication and negotiation skills were critical to his success in this role.
Recent Work: Social Security and Community Engagement
Most recently, McQuerry served with the Commonwealth of Kentucky/Social Security Administration in the Disability Determination Services department. In this position, he was responsible for managing disability claims, determining eligibility for benefits, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. His thorough understanding of the Social Security Administration's Title II and Title IV programs made him a key asset in the agency's operations.
Personal Life and Future Aspirations
Joseph McQuerry is not only committed to his professional endeavors but is also deeply invested in his personal and community life. He recently dedicated his life to Christ and has a vision of creating a nonprofit organization that supports veterans, the homeless, and underprivileged children. A central part of this vision includes placing service dogs with veterans, a cause close to his heart as he is the proud owner of a five-year-old German shepherd service dog.
